Zhu Chengliang is a renowned Chinese illustrator. He was born in Shanghai and raised in Suzhou. He studied at Nanjing University’s Department of Fine Art and has worked as an author, artist, editor, and designer. In 2016, he was nominated for the Hans Christian Andersen Award. His novels have been nominated for the IBBY Honour List, won first prize in the Feng Zikai Children’s Book Award, been named one of the New York Times’ Ten Best Illustrated novels, and finished second in the UNESCO Noma Concours for Picture Book Illustrations.
