About the author/illustrator

Peng Yi, a renowned children’s literature writer, translator, scholar, and photographer. Peng Yi is known for works such as the fantasy literature series I Am Xia Dandan, I Am Xia Kekke, and The Spirit Fox Boy, as well as picture books like Don’t Jump Rope with Frogs, Firefly Girl, and The Child of the Reindeer Man. Peng Yi has also written theoretical works like World Picture Book Reading and Classics, World Children’s Literature Reading and Classics, and How to Read Picture Books Like This. Additionally, Peng Yi has translated works like the 14 Mice series, Happiness Little Chick series, and Going Shopping.

Tian Yu, a renowned picture book author and painter, graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts at Tsinghua University. Tian Yu later taught at the Central Academy of Fine Arts’ Picture Book Creation Studio and gained immense popularity among students, earning the nickname “The Handsome Teacher of the Central Academy of Fine Arts.” Tian Yu was also involved in the founding of art education institutions like Yi Huo and The Secrets of Picture Books. Some of Tian Yu’s notable works include I Defeated the Sleep Demon with 32 Farts, Knock-Knock Little Bear, and The Fly King. Tian Yu has received numerous awards, including the 2nd Picture Book Era Award and rankings in the Top 10 of Original Picture Books for the year 2017.
