It’s that time of year again, the coldest season. Amid the quiet wait, the moon rises and sets in the sky. Finally, the cute penguin baby hatches. It has a tuft of white fur on its head, and its father names it White Bao. White Bao is hungry, and the father regurgitates the last of the food in his stomach. White Bao happily takes its first bite. Looking at the white world around, White Bao’s eyes are full of curiosity. It turns out that all penguin babies are cared for by their fathers. When all the father penguin go out for food, the penguin babies embark on a journey to their fathers…



About the author/illustrator
Ma Yu currently resides in Beijing after graduating from the Department of Chinese Painting at the Xi’an Academy of Fine Arts. She enjoys making picture books, product designs, and anything to do with painting. Wukong, Be A Good Boy! was one of her works that won the International Original Picture Book Award and was published in Japan by Hakuyosha. The Adventure on Mars, the third title in the “Wukong, Be A Good Boy!” series, won the 4th “Young China” Children’s Cultural Works Picture Book Group Finalist Award and the “Zhang Leping Picture Book Award” Finalist Award in 2016. The “Wukong, Be A Good Boy!” series also represented China at The Biennial of Illustration Bratislava (BIB) in 2017.
