One day, a little parrot came into the girl’s life. She began to feed it, play with it, and gently endure its mischievous ways. As time passed, the parrot grew, and the girl grew accustomed to its constant presence beside her.

Then one day, the now-grown parrot stretched its wings, ready to take flight.

At that moment, the girl understood something deeper—a part of her hesitated to let it learn to fly, reluctant to grant it complete freedom. Much like mothers everywhere, she felt that tender, protective love that both holds close and must learn to let go.

This tender picture book is a tribute to the beautiful, complex bond between mother and child.
