“If the doors of perception were cleansed, everything would appear to man as it is, infinite. For man has closed himself up, till he sees all things thro' narrow chinks of his cavern. “William Blake

A New Interpretation of the Classic Story "The Blind Men and the Elephant".

The popular version of "The Blind Men and the Elephant" uses four examples of the blind man touching the elephant to demonstrate that we cannot look at things from a biased perspective. However, Xiao Long Hua discovered that in other versions of "The Blind Men and the Elephant," there is a Buddha "King Mirror" who can penetrate the surface and gain omniscience. On this basis, he constructed the "Mirror Kingdom" where the story took place, and with a unique visual image and artistic language, he combined "The Blind Men and the Elephant" with the legend described in the ancient Miao song "Mother Butterfly" to retell a new story on endless knowledge and exploration.

Xiao Long Hua uses engineering blue paper as the background in this work to deconstruct the form of the object into a figure, so that the "image" becomes a "phase." Graphics have been stitched together. In this case, he uses "splicing" of graphics to reflect the story's fluidity, and four different graphics to express the elephants perceived by the four blind men. The story continued to change like a kaleidoscope after the King Mirror received four answers, which conveys that everyone gets a limited answer through his own path, but even with this limited answer, there are infinite possibilities.
